Long day at work. Freezing rain outside. Pick up my truck from the mechanic. Drive by the nearby Porsche dealer to stop and admire the two black beauties on display. No way to drive one tonight. Skip the auto show where I'll only want to go look at the blue beauty on display there. Who cares about the other cars. Go home. Mix a martini. Read the order sheet for my Guards Red beauty on order - for the umpteenth time. Check out the Cayman Club for the latest adventures of my lucky friends down south. Yet another weekend in the frozen north waiting, waiting, waiting... Oh well, at least I got an invite to the annual winter "Porsche Banquet" tomorrow night. --- RedEye

Redeye...feel your pain...I've taken so many test drives, read and re-read every article (even the owners manual) and each and every thread. But I wait for my Lapis Blue. But every dog has its day. I've got to say not only am I excited about just getting the Cayman, but also of being an 'elite'. One of the relative few who took a chance and got what may turn out to be a modern classic (and if not, so what I'm going to love it). But I can't help to think that someday some kids going to look at me driving my 1st year Cayman in much the same way as I watched a guy driving a 914 2.0 that he got back new.
