Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK, so I've been a bit outspoken in the past about not wanting to buy a modified car As far as I knew, my Turbo was standard: There is no paperwork anywhere to suggest it has been modified in any way, the two specialists that have serviced it have made no comment about it (despite one changing the MAF sensor) and, as it is the only Turbo I have ever driven (or 'non-S' that I have ever been in, for that matter), I had no idea that there was anything non-standard about it... Until this... So, my question is, does anyone know if this is possible in a standard, unmapped / unmodified 996 Turbo? I should add, that in the year that I have owned the car, over 18,000 miles (including two track days), I have never before noticed more than 0.7 showing on the boost gauge for more than a second or two, and only ever seen 0.8 a couple of times just for a split second... I guess it is irrelevant from a purchasing point of view for me, now, but I think I am going to have to sell it very soon and don't want to mis-represent it!
