Great Satellite Radio Install Experience

Hey there, This is my first Post....so I am hoping it is helpful for those Owners that did not select the Sirius/XM Factory Option when they took delivery of theor Cayman. I have a 2010 Cayman with PCM, Nav, Bluetooth, CD and Ipod Interface.....What I did not opt for at the time was Satellite Radio Integration. I have XM in the house and Sirius in other vehicles and have regretted not having this option in my Cayman......Over the years during Services at the Local Dealership I would regularly inquire IF it was an option yet and I was always shot down.....Until Recently....while getting Tires I asked again and was referred to Perzan Auto Radio ( Perzan Auto Radio - Home ) A Business specializing in Porsche..... I am in the Philadelphia suburbs and gave Perzan a quick call last Saturday....they advised that depending on which PCM I had in my 2010 there may be an option to Install Sirius as Factory Integrated into the PCM. Luckily I have that "Correct" PCM and they took a deposit and Ordered the Part. The Part Arrived 4 days later and on Friday I had the Sirius Satellite Radio Interface installed. Larry Perzan is the Owner of the business and took an active role in my Order and monitored the Installation until it was complete and the Technician completed a Demo of the Features. The Install was performed flawlessly and the Radio was Activated immediately and allowed me to enjoy the benefits of the commercial-free listening right from the Parking Lot. The Price for the Fully-Integrated PCM version of the Satellite Radio is $1200 which about twice the cost of just going and having a stand-alone Unit Installed.....But I think it is well worth it and I was thrilled with my experience and figured it was worth sharing - in case someone else is looking to add this feature to their Cayman! $1200 seems like a lot for sat radio, but as long as you are happy that is all that counts. I enjoy Sirius all day at my desk at work so I have not found the need to add it to any of my vehicles, but my commute is only about 25 minutes each way. If I take a long trip, I can take my portable desk unit into a car and just throw the antenna up on the dash and plug into the aux input or just use the fm modulation if aux is not available like in my Boxster. Sure it looks terrible, but it is only for road trips. Anyway, $1200 for happiness is a small price to pay so if it makes you happy and your had a great experience, cheers to you :cheers: Most people I encounter would call me crazy for spending $700 earlier this summer to have red seatbelts and that was the self install price! To each thier own we all need to do what makes us happy, that is what it is all about!
