Viken, I know you've posted this info before, but I've searched and can't find it. I thought I printed your reply last time but...noooooo! Anyway, would be much obliged if you would post weights again for the 7.5x18 and 10x18 Turbolook wheels. I want to compare them to the new Kinesis K28's I just ordered. Also if you happen to know the weight of a 285x30x18 tire compared to a 265x35x18 (Bridgestone S03's, for example ) I'd appreciate you posting that as well. TIA! Mike

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

18" Turbolook (solid spoke) wheels without tires: 7.5" x 18" - ET50 - 24.91 lbs. 10" x 18" - ET65 - 29.32 lbs. What Kinesis wheels did you order? Sizes and weights too, please.
Thanks Viken! I ordered the Kinesis K28's in sizes 8X18 and 10X18. Kinesis didn't have a precise spec on the weight because, they said, it varied with different fitments. However, they were kind enough to actually weigh wheels for me on their scale which +/- .25 pound accuracy came out to: 8X18 20.5 lbs 8X10 22.0 lbs I ordered from Wheel Enhancement and had them mount Bridgestone S03's for me. I decided to stay with 225's in front and went to 285's in the rear. Dave at Wheel Enhancement strongly suggested that I stay with the 225's in front and said the 285's were a better fit on the 10" rim than the 265 at the back. Of course, that's the combination Porsche uses on the 2002, and interestingly, as mentioned in the recent article in Sports Car International on the Ruf Turbo R, Ruf also decided to go with the 225 instead of 235's or 245's (even with 305's at the rear!) due to "better turn in and steering feel with the smaller size". I'm sure there are other opinions, but that's how I made my decision. I think the wider 8" wheel and the negative camber I'm running at the front will overcome any tendancy for the wider rears to cause added understeer. Anyway, thanks again for your help and your interest. Mike
"I think the wider 8" wheel and the negative camber I'm running at the front will overcome any tendancy for the wider rears to cause added understeer." Was wondering about this myself. I too am changing to 8X18 fronts with neg 1 camber. Please let us know if the increased rears without corresponding larger fronts do in fact produce more understeer when you get em. TIA
>>Please let us know if the increased rears without corresponding larger fronts do in fact produce more understeer when you get em. TIA<< Ben, Since the wheels are supposed to be a "Xmas present", I should "legally" wait to put them on, but don't know if I will be able to stand it once they arrive. But I'll be glad to report back when I have a chance to try them out. Mike
The '02 996 has the TT's slightly longer front control arms and 1/2" wider front wheels to balance the wider OEM rear tires . They were able to fit these arms 'cause the '02 has the TT's front fenders ( and lamps).
