Would anyone know differences are between the two in terms of sound and power gains. By reading that the whole stock exhaust has been overhauled so it gives more of a raspy sound how does it compare to the fabspeed. I welcome neones expertise on this. thanks for the future responses. This is Joe @ Fabspeed Motorsport. No-one replied to your email after a long period of time so I will for informations sake. The 2002 996s cars have a louder exhaust sound because: many 1999-2001 996 owners complained that the 996 was way too quiet 2) the engine is bigger internally and modified 3) the factory sport exhaust was too expensive/complicated to make original equipment New information: many 2002 996 owners, shops and Porsche dealers say the 2002 factory mufflers are still too quite & mild and analagous to the 993 Motorsound package. Fabspeed data gathered from 2002 996s: Fabspeed's Maxflo hiperformance mufflers will add power and save weight on all 2002 996s. They fit 2002 996s fine and accept the factory Porsche tips The headers and cold air hiperformance upgrade kit fit and work well too. Fabspeed's true oval tips currently are too short for the rear of the 2002 996s. BMC F1 airfilters fit the stock 996 airbox too. Fabspeed has been polishing 2002 996 OEM stock tips for customer on a turnaround basis. Have a great day. Performance for the Next Millenium
