Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Quick thought. I have Xenon on my Range Rover and the wife's MB. This is the first time not getting Xenon's on my 09 Caymon. For the first time, I looked at the lights on and the lights still look like they are almost Xenon. They project purple-ish. In fact, when the lights hit the wall, they look very close to Xenon with the purplish reflection. They actually almost look like HID lights when they are tuned on...not your standard yellow lights. Any thoughts?

POST 2Original post

Are you sure they are not Xenon? (washer nipple on the bumper) I have tried both and I would never give up Xenon, especially with the cornering ability.

POST 3Original post

Nah...they definitely aren't xenon b/c they arent crisp blue-ish white like my RR. I first noticed that the Halogen light when reflected off a wall projected a rainbow color similar to xenon. I looked at the car dead on and the lights do project a rainbow glow. They almost remind me of HID lights that look yellow when you look at them from the side but if you look at them dead center, they project a rainbow-ish tone. Maybe its the actual housing that the light is in or maybe the new type of halogen lights have become more advanced but they definitely do not look like the old types of yellow lights. I am actually kind of impressed even though I have always driven cars with Xenon's.

POST 4Original post

will the halogen lights turn yellowish over time?

POST 5Original post

Halogen will not turn yellow, it you are concerned then I suggest you purchase Philips Xtreme H7...very white & bright IMO. I went with Halogen because I just can't accept that permanent nipple sitting on the bumper. Also I was really impressed with the Philips Xtreme H7 bulbs! Also with the $3400 I saved I was able to get LSD, Sports Shifter...
