Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hello, I am new, first-time Porsche owner. Purchased a 2006 base Boxster Tiptronic last weekend. It has upgraded BOSE stereo system, with base CDR24 radio. I love the sound, but am trying to find out if I can disable the program information that shows for the radio stations. I've found that this feature is provided thru the Radio Data Broadcast (RDBS) function. I just want to see the radio frequency when I look at the radio faceplate - not all the other radio program information. Anyone know how to disable the RDBS? I've searched on the internet and can't find anything that helps. Thanks.

I am guessing that 18 months later, you are not still waiting on a reply, but I just went through the same exercise, and if it can be done, I do not know how. I found your thread in a search, so rather than call the wrath of the mods upon me ;-), I thought I might just add to your thread. Most of the radio manual appears to be very poorly translated. There is a section that discusses the methods used to store stations (a 3 second button push, vs,. a 4 second button push) that I thought might be the ticket, but it does not. That feature appears to be a way to store sub-channels that are broadcast along with a stations primary frequency. The section that does describe RDBS does not imply that the feature is in any way optional. 99% of the time, I listen to XM through 87.9, so RDBS is not an issue, but I had some XM issues recently such that I had to slum it with regular FM, and I find RDBS to be beyond worthless.
