Pole: Turbo wing or GT3 wing for C2

Okay, After reviewing I will install the GT3 aero kit. Question is which wing to use? The twin turbo wing or the GT3 wing. I am asuming no other mods other than turbo tail lights with the crease through the middle for the turbo wing. Lets just pretend for argument sake that the price are equal for both. The GT3 wing is pretty radical in style while the Turbo wing is reserved but I plan on adding the tech art upper wing for a little flavor. What do you guys think??? Your input holds great weight in my decision..... -George

The "Cup" Aerokit comes with the GT3 rear wing. You can't get the Turbo rear spoiler.

Why not go all the way and get the GT3-R carbon fiber wing? It's lighter and provides more downforce. Karl

Hi, Huzurdd Suposing you could install a turbo rear wing (selling the GT3 rearwing that comes with the Aerokit package),why mess with the aerodinamics? The whole kit was designed to work in harmony (no just for looks) with the front to provide good aerodinamics for the GT3. Installing a different wing will not work any better (for a stock 996 Carrera) at high speeds (which is my priority since there are awsome highways where I am ), so my advice is not to mess with it and keep the GT3 rearwing that comes with the package, its not that radical looking, it will grow on you The GT3-R, now thats radical... Hello, You guys are right after thinking about it the styling wouldn't match the rest of the kit. SO GT3 WING IT IS....... I asked because I am purchasing the components not the kit. I do this because I can get this cheaper this way and I can customize the kit. I am told the front cover is different between the GT3 and the aero kit. The center duct being the difference. Also the GT3 have flatter side rocker covers than the aero. I've decided on aero because they are more scuplted.. The rear wings offered to me are these. Real turbo wing; Trunk lid $2500- (take off) $11080-new oouch! wing $1800 new wiring and hydralics new $1700 I have decided all in all this would not be a cost effective option. Other choices are stock GT3 wing or the carbon version. The carbon is $400 more. I'm not sure what the differnce is in weight??? The carbon one is 9kg. Anybody know how much the standard GT3 is??? What do you guys think carbon or stock GT3 wing???? Also these wings are the real thing so the air intake on the deck lid is on the passenger side not the drivers side like the aero kit. Anybody know if and which parts are needed to convert the air box housing to accept air through the passenger side?? Thanks all!!!!

I'm not sure about a noticeable difference in weight b/w the stock and carbon rearwing, since mine is made of some type of hard plactic (glassfiber type). I wonder what the real advantage is? Carlos from Spain.

I have the factory GT3 kit on my car and love the look of the wing (Better than the turbo.) More style and grace if you asked me. If you can get the same wing in Carbon..every 10lbs is 1HP you do the math and see if $$$/HP is worth it to you. For $400 bucks I'd Carbon. Factory kit is fiberglass for what I can tell and its heavy too!!! You might want to look into the splitter for the front since you are having all this done. Champion sell some Carbon parts that add on to the Areo kit...the splitter is the only part I liked but its all a matter of taste. Good luck, and you'll love the look.
