Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Everytime I turn the ignition switch to ON, there's a short but loud whine from the front of the car. i did a little investigating and it appears to be the emergency release lever located in the "frunk". I can reproduce the sound by pulling the lever. Is there an automated latching mechanism that occurs with the emergency lever when turning the ignition on? Can I disable it, or is this indicative of some kind of issue with the lever itself? Edit: please move to the Problems forum

Interesting...I would have mentioned potential issue with fuel pump as that primes itself when you turn key to "on", but you are saying you can reproduce with the lever in the frunk. So now I'm stumped.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
