Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Took the car out of the garage yesterday to wash it and noticed a pool of oil on the floor. It covered an area the size of an A5 sheet of paper. I can see the point where it is dripping from, but I don't think that it is the point where the leak originates. I have no idea how long the leak has been there, since it is dark in the mornings and evenings when the car is going in/out of the garage. 1) What are the likely causes? 2) I have an OPC warranty. Could it be something that is not covered by this? 3) Is it safe to drive? While I was washing it I put a tray underneath, but no oil had dripped in that two hour period. I took the car out after I had washed it to dry off the brakes, and again there was no drips when I returned. I was thinking that it would be at its worse when the oil was at temperature and the viscosity had dropped. Many thanks Lee

POST 2Original post

(1) Could be from any of several places. (2) If it's leaking oil it must be covered by the OPC warranty. (3) No problem to drive it as long as you've checked that the oil level is still ok. I know it's worrying but that's what OPC warranties are for. Get it sorted and make sure you find out from them exactly what it was and how much it wouldv'e cost to fix. When warranty renewal time comes up it's something that will give you a few sleepless nights.

Thanks T8996C4. I rang my OPC this morning and they advised to get the car recovered, so it is going in tomorrow morning. I'm just waiting to see what loan car Porsche Assist send out.
