Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

http://www.pca.org/tech/tech_qa_area.asp?id=46 Porsche Club of America, which we should all join, has a great tech section. They just added the Cayman. No topics as of yet but it should prove useful over time.

POST 2Original post

My sales guy promised to include a one-year PCA membership with the car. Small but very appreciated gift. (Yes, there are Canadian chapters of PCA!) He also said I could take their Cayman S demo car to the first local track day if my own car has not arrived yet. -- RedEye

SF, Since you don't have to be a member to read the tech forums, I would recommend that you spend some time looking through the Boxster topics. Since the Cayman is derived from the 987, and the engine is of the watercooled variety begun with the 1997 Boxster and 1999 996's, there's a lot to learn there just reading. Not all the news is good, there have been some problems over the years, but you'll have some valuable information in hand for when you get your car. When you get your car and join PCA, it will be an invaluable place ask questions as well. brad

POST 4Original post

Thanks brad I think you pointed me there first. I've read all the tech stuff for all the cars and just went back to look something up and saw they had listed our cars.

POST 5Original post

You bet, Santa Fe... I went to look and see who the Cayman expert will be and I'm happy to see that Scott Slauson will handle the section Scott is a fully factory trained tech. and really knows his stuff. Good for all of us! brad
