Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I do believe it was an option. I have a 2000 C2 and it is on the added options list.

Mine isn't, but that's a UK car. US might be different.
It was an option.
I hate to ask, but what is the difference between PSM & the traction control I have on my 1999?

From "Porsche 996 The Essential Companion" page 300: "The primary difference between PSM and the ABS/TC system is that PSM, whilst retaining all the same functions including ASC/ASR, adds: 1) Front wheel traction control (under steer detection). 2) Complete anti-spin control (oversteer) providing commanded brake pressure applications to all four wheels, and controlled automatic engine power reductions in order to keep the 996 traveling in a straight line."
I thought PSM started with e-gas cars, which were C4s only in 99 and for all models in 2000.
OK thanks .. There are fuses missing where the booklet says are for PSM. So I take it that mine doesnt have it. My PO has really f***ed up the wiring on this car and I am clueless as to whats what right now. Wires cut all under the dash area. I wish he had cut his own bollux off the D.H.
I think it also came if you have LSD.
LSD.. the last time I had that was during the 60s lol.... Whats LSD btw?

Shouldn't there be on the upper left side of the control panel of the satnav/radio a button named PSM OFF - if the car came with the option under all circumstances? The 2002 996 3.6L I have an eye on at the moment has this option... (yes, it's neither a C4 or Cab, but rather a bog standard C2 for you who have read my want list earlier )

True statement. Option sticker should also have: 476 Porsche Stability Management (PSM)
PSM was in fact an option on '99 C2's. Not standard. Hurdi, does your car still have the option sticker on the underside of the hood? A white sticker with black ink and a whole bunch of cryptic 3 and 4 letter/number codes?
Well according to you guys mine must not have the option..thanks..
