Just wanted to know if this is removable before I start taring things out of the car. To clarify, it's the thin black strip that's under the passenger side air bag on the dash. It also runs across on both sides of the steering column in two separate pieces.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

its removable, but the two nuts that hold it in place behind the dash are very difficult to get to. the best route is to order a new one & break the old one off the dash. when you install the new one, don't bother installing the nuts (there are compression clips that will hold it in place anyway). part number is 996.552.385.01.
