Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Autoweek, October 22, 2007 has a nice article about the GT2 but turn the page and you can read about the Cayman CR-42 built by the German Tuner 9ff. It is “Cff’s 420-hp version of Porsche ’s already brilliant mid-engine sports car.” They are planning a twin-turbocharged engine that could make 700 hp.

POST 2Original post

If you do a search, you'll find that 9ff has a rather unfavorable history on this board. In short, they basically trashed a member's car after taking his money, then left him high-and-dry.

POST 3Original post

That's not good! I had never heard of 9ff before. Apparently we should steer clear of them. Thanks for the tip. (Although I couldn’t afford a tuner car anyway. )

POST 4Original post

The idea that this tuner is making such a 700HP Frankenstein Monster, is the most interesting point for me. I appreciate the business feedback on this tuner, and will never do business with him. But I do wish him all success in his endeavor to make such a ridiculous monster Cayman . I love such entertainment!! BIG ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM!!

POST 5Original post

Looks like Orton is also producing a 700hp monster. Although the webpage says "coming soon" Orton Performance - Porsche - Cayman

POST 6Original post

I think Orton is a high quality outfit. I hope no one makes a mistake and confuses a good tuner like Orton with this other company.

POST 7Original post

Seems like I recall some problems on this forum with Orton too......do a search?

POST 8Original post

I'm not sure 700hp is needed, I know 700hp would not have helped me at all at the track today... just ask Beez...
