Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Got back from offshore to find the car under about 8 or 9 inches of snow!! but luckily these bad boys arrived while I was away so I wasn't stuck at home

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Vredestein wintrac extremes. Seem to get good reviews and they got me out of the road from my garage which was pretty deep for about 50 metres or so. They'll be staying on till march I think.

POST 5Original post

What sizes have you gone for? As far as I know the winter tyres on a 996 TT are different sizes...295/35/18 and 235/40/18....wonder if you can confirm please? Or have you gone for different rim sizes?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The fronts are the same size as regular and the rears are 265/35 on a 10 inch rim instead of 11 inch. The sizes are in the manual if you have it.

POST 7Original post

Speed, In the midst of this with Chris from excel wheels can you tell me where you sourced your 10j rears? and do you have a photo as the offset is different??? Glad to hear they are a success, wish I could find any Vreds, looking at the Pirellis as only ones about!

POST 8Original post

You can try Tony at http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/ who has stock of Cooper (large US tyre manufacturer) Weather Master SA2 tyres (new for 2010/2011) or http://www.kwik-fit.com/ for Continental WinterContact TS830

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Got the wheels from design911. It's the 50x style, so basically turbo copies (and you can feel the weight difference). Thought about a spare set of turbo wheels but winters in 295 are even harder to find than 265.

POST 10Original post

Thanks Speed, Have just confirmed with Chris @ Excel wheels for a wheel winter tyre combo, the man is a legend he has even sourced 295's! :worship:

POST 11Original post

I had some Vredesteins on my previous car (Nissan 350Z). Not the winter ones, just the all-weather Ultrac Sessanta (I think that's what they were called!), I quite liked them tbh. Quite under-rated tyres imo...
