Hi, can anyone tell me if standard 996 17" Carrera wheels will fit my C4S? I hope to get a set of these fitted with winter tyres to allow me to use my car through the winter (weather just west of Edinburgh is mental right now - 21" of snow!!!) The only potential issue I've spotted is if the wheels will clear the larger brakes on the S - looks like barely 1/2" of clearance on front calipers with the standard 18" S wheels fitted (plenty of room on rears though) Any help or advice would be great - including experience on winter tyre choices. One reason for going for the 17" wheels is they are slightly narrower which will be better for snow grip.

Out of interest what spacers are you running on the rears of those 997 18" wheels please Bermo?

there are no spacers on the rear but there are 7mm spacers on the fronts because they are 235s the rears being 295s , not easy wheels to get hold of , cost me 900 quid off ebay , virtually brand new and yes they are OE
