Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am really considering picked up a 996 turbo as a replacement to my aging m3. The are dropping in price somewhat and I love everything about them. What else would you guys be driving for the same money as a 996turbo that can seat four if needed? I sorta like the c6 z06's but the little rear seats that do exist in the 996 make it more practical for me? Other the e90 m3's are nice but 996 turbo is a much better performer. Any suggestions would be great.

POST 2Original post

I originally wanted a turbo so bad I could taste it. Now that I have a C4S and discovered the track I'd rather have a GT3 than a turbo. I know they are a bit more but if I ever upgrade it'll be a GT3 or very track focused 996 C2.

POST 3Original post

Actual adults cannot sit in the backseat, but I have seen many children, car seats, and groceries in the back of a 996. For $35-40k I cannot think of anything that equals a 996TT. And with some smart exhaust and reflash mods they can easily approach 450-475hp. Serious supercar territory. Just make sure you find an adult-cared for one to start with.

POST 4Original post

I've actually had adults in my C4S backseat twice. They were small and it was a short distance, but it is possible. That being said, I wouldn't let the backseat be a significant part of a car buying decision. It's not very useful.

POST 5Original post

I've had my mother, daughter, grand daughter, daughter-in-law all in my back seats, not at the same time. Any average sized female, say 5'5" and 125# will easily fit. Come to think of it, this used to be average sized. Now average is closed to super sized.
