For the most part of quiet moments I'm constantly smiling about the drive home... Am I crazy?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. I tried so hard to just drive the minivan to work today. After spending all night waxing the 996, I had to drive it in to see it in the daylight!
Dream of driving it? Yes! Crazy? You and Knarls Barkley. You Tube
Oh I definitely think about driving it constantly, but I've only had mine a week.
Not only do I drive it - and think about driving it - I drive it places other people won't even consider...
Yep, I’m guilty too.
It's my daily driver...even then i think about when i get bored at work. Driving home from work might be the best few minutes of my day....
Guilty as charged - not only do I know the fastest way home, I know many of the LONGEST ways home too...only many because I haven't tried driving east until I end up in the west again...but I'm planning a route! I get into work early....park in front of my building and then when the parking patrol hits the beat, I move it to my parking lot...sometimes it takes me an hour to move my car one hundred yards! My employees get a good laugh outta that when it happens. It's become normal for me to take 30 - 45 minutes to make the seven mile commute from work to home! I got a good wife. my car, my building

It’s my daily driver as well, so luckily I get to spend a couple of hours commuting every day!
I look forward to my 12 min. commute to work everyday. I have a nice twisty drive up to the house and down to the office...
24/7/365 (I take Leap Year Day off)
Truth be told - I cant stand driving mine on the streets of Orlando any more. Its hot, loud, smells, and EXTREMELY uncomfortable. But it put it where it was built to go - the track - and it shines. I love this damn car.
My car has been in the body shop for a month. I'm going crazy.

Has it been gutted and set up as a track car?
I enjoy driving my convertible 996 to commute every day. I'm thinking selling the hard top which has no use in L.A.
I don't have time. I am here all day.
In the shop, my garage, waiting for an alternator and all the plastic parts I broke getting it out. Driving me nuts
Knowing my 996 is under its car cover in the garage all winter long and looking outside and seeing this............
No. I think about sex all day. Unless I'm having sex, then I think about my car. Because it's sexy. Btw, 5CHN3LL just hit post count 10,000. If a mere 2 minutes per response is given including reading the initial post, formulating a response, typing it and pressing send, that's roughly 333 hours, or over 23,000 miles at 70mph that could've been driven instead of thinking about driving. Or, my math is off because it's almost 3:00am and I'm drinking and thinking, but not thinking about driving... or having sex. Because posting while having sex would be creepy.

Pretty much. There's a little bit of carpet left and some creature comforts - but for all intents and purposes... yea. It's a solid end suspension, cheater motor, hard riding, unforgiving, loud, smelly, uncomfortable slice of heaven.
tell me about it............. due to a major back surgery - I haven't been able to drive my baby in 254 days :-( but recovery has been going well - I have been able to pet her heavily and managed to climb in and out a few times. my trusted mechanic has driven her about once a month to keep all fluids in order, etc I dream about driving her, I think about driving her - and one day soon.... look out, cause here I come!
living in TX, where everyone says y'all, i just had to mention that your contraction is all wrong, not to mention unnecessary. "you'all" is just "you all". it's either "y'all" for singular and "all y'all" for plural.

What happened? Care to share? I also damaged my lower back so bad I couldn't walk and I tried to drive my 996, but it was too painful to press in the clutch pedal. Makes me thankful I bounced back. I missed driving that car around.
Back and knee problems Get a GT3 style flat bottom wheel, egress and ingress much easier
While mine isn't a daily driver, it's driven weekly rain or shine. And, I was lucky enough to drive it from Seattle to Rennsport VI whata hoot. We logged over 2k miles round trip including 4 all day drives.

Think getting in and out is the bigger issue. I had a three level (same as noted above) fusion in my lower back, I get it.
All this week I've been bummed because I wouldn't be able to drive my 996 Thursday and Friday. Training class is in a very bad area of town, you wouldn't want to park your car there all day and can't keep an eye on it. Found out this morning I don't have to go, I've been smiling ever since! Yes, it's a sickness, we all have it, let's just deal with it! Love all the stories on this thread, it's one of my favorite threads.
whew.. I thought I was weird bc I couldn't wait for the drive to work.. until I get here and want to keep on driving. The drive to work for me is usually squirting thru the traffic til I'm in the front.. and as the light turns green, the custom exhaust wails as I gun it and calmly wind out 1st, and pop her into 2nd..then 3rd, 4th and cruising in 5th.. well ahead of the crowd, but just a hair over the speed limit. Way too many cops here in the Redneck Riviera over the tourist season, and my car kinda sticks out. That's the ONE way to work.. the other is mainly 3 lane hwy, but some interesting on and off ramps that have a lot of Trac-OFF potential at the right time. I swear I can hear that WOT wail in my sleep though

Not sure who or what you are talking about here! Gal or car?
My gal keeps asking why I go to work so early! I "tell" her I'm trying to avoid getting stuck in traffic. She reminds me that I go the opposite direction the heavy traffic is in. I grin as I say "oh yeah"
Guilty as charged. My Cab is my weekend toy. I travel a lot during the week and drive all types of rentals...makes me want to drive my Porsche even more. My wife says the only time she sees me smile is when I talk about the Cab...dont know about that, but I might be smiling now!

LOL!
I remember as a kid, I would sit in a family members "fancy" car for hours, pretend driving and smiling non-stop knowing some day I will drive the dream car too. I am in that same moment as then ALL THE TIME now! Nothing has changed, but I do own the "fancy" car now and my wife keeps screaming "Dinner!" Not sure why the food is always cold. I think we own an oven.....

Funny you mention fancy cars. My 2 1/2 year old grandson lives about 600 miles away ( unfortunately). We FaceTime often, and every time he asks to see grandpas fancy car. So we go out to the garage and show him that its still safe. For some reason he always asks me to open the fuel filler door and show him the gas cap! No idea why!
The 996 definitely drives better than it looks. I'll give you that. I think I hate my 996 just as much as I love it. Kind of like a girlfriend you fight with but have great sex anyway. Considering she's almost 20 years old, and a bit beat up (and smelly) she still screams alright. lol Ultimately I think I'm more in love with my Camaro SS.. it's faster, newer, smoother and automatic. I feel it gets more respect and attention on the road; I drive it 95% of the time. Oil changes and maintenance are also less expensive. It just seems to make more sense. With all that said my affair with Porsche isn't over. I think I will keep her for summer drives, and hoping this fling will grow into more over time..
