Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys Looking to upgrade the audio on my 996 - I assume I'll need to relocate the climate controls like in the models with factory satnav but I'm struggling to find a parts list etc? Does the oem unit fit the new space if I relocate them? Or do I need additional brackets? I assume I'll at the least need a bezel to suit the new location? Does a double din cage fit right in without modification? Looking at going for a kenwood or pioneer satnav unit as a replacement. I also managed to score a set of Alpine Xtype speakers in a track car that I purchased (don't think the seller even realised!) Any ideas if these will fit the available space in the door cards? http://www.alpine.com.au/showItem.php?item_id=83 Can't wait, next on the list are some GT2 seats, a GT3 wheel and a few bits of exterior carbon - all coming together nicely

I don't have the answers to all of your questions, but I do know that sun coast parts sells a double din trim package specifically for this purpose. Check it out, it may include mounting bracket as well. Cheers Charlie

eBay also has 996 double din kits. AC buttons get rearranged but looks good when using one of the kits.

You'll need an adapter cage and new bezel. The stock Alpine won't cover the full opening. Plus, you'll need a wiring harness in the integrate Apline with the Porsche's wiring. Save the hassle and work with these people. Their kits include everything you need plus the Porsche OEM shelf and lower bezel for the AC controller. https://cai-store.com/collections/fr...iant=284419288 Cheers!
