Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 996 tt convertible that Im about to put 987/997 sport seats in and I am wondering how to manage the wiring. My car has heat and no memory, manual fore and aft and power recline, the same as my 987/997 seats. I know that the drivers side seat belt receptacle needs to be transferred over and that the wiring connectors are different. My car only has 23,000 miles on it so I want to be able to do an adapter connection so I dont cut the connector in the car. Does anyone have advice, suggestions or sources on how to do that? Ive done a lot of internet searching and havent come across a definitive solution. Ideally an adaptor that could plug into the 996 harness and into the 987 seat (or cut the 987 plug off the seat and install a 996 plug does anyone know someone that has done that before that could advise? Thanks Ed

OP - Have you looked at these threads? If not, give em a look. You dont need to cut anything on the car harness. Youll probably need to convert the 9x7 seat connector to 9x6 style. Been 3 years since I did mine and there may be some tidier methods now. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...n-a-996-a.html https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...ion-guide.html

Install 987 seats and just give them power and ground. Much easier than 997 electric seats which are a nightmare and the design is exactly the same.
