Hi guys. I have a 2001 996 C4 bone stock with about 110 k miles.. Problem is : there's an annoying metallic rattle coming from the dash boad on the passenger side (right side), like where the glove box would be. It sounds like an unscrewed bolt or a louse metal rod, something like this. It goes 'grrrr' everytime I go over a bump. Any idea what I should look for ? Thanks

Dashboard rattles/sounds drive me bonkers. If it's a metallic sound and coming from the passenger side, it could very well be the bolts that hold the airbag in place. You could remove the glove box and make sure the two torx bolts are nice and tight. You Tube
Plot twist : I have no glove box since it's a 996.1 ! I will watch anyways. Thank you Keviha.

Ha! Well, it'll be easier for you to get to then. I believe the video above is from a 986 w/o glove box - so fits your situation. Good luck!

Amazing. I will take a look at my car as soon as I'm off the office.
This may sound weird, but I also chased down a dash rattle. Sounded exactly like it was coming from the front near the cluster. Turns out it was that stupid headliner cover on the sunroof. It keeps popping loose for reasons I still do not understand.
I had a similar rattle going over bumps (2000 C2 so no glovebox). It stopped when I push on the airbag cover. I went beneath the dash, removed the air vent tube (by far the most difficult part of the job) and snugged everything down which fixed the rattle. I didn't have to remove the airbag as shown in the video.
