Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm looking to remove my "CD Holder", buy a lower position cubby, and swap my climate control unit into the old spot. Basically going from this (not my car but same layout): To this (even have a 997 **** on the way!): Can anyone comment on the requirements for this swap? Will it slide in fine up there? Is there a faceplate necessary for the top spot? If so does someone have a part number? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

I think all you need is the "cubby hole" purchased separately.....should be a painless mod....just be careful re-routing the cables

POST 3Original post

Just do a search all the details r easy to find. The climate control was not designed for that slot and u need to modify the face plate and the mounts. The lower cubby can be purchased. Its not that hard to figure out.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
