Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have Function-First Motor Mounts in my car and love them. Function-First stopped selling them. Anyone know why, and is there a comparable product?

no idea but I would ask them directly

POST 3Original post

They make a nice product... actually all products are nice... But do a quick search and you'll find that you can get the same type of motor mounts for a lot cheaper... so demand probably went down... not worth his time to make them anymore...

Ya I've had several new people asking how to order, and several existing customers asking why they were no more. They performed well and were a great solution, but as noted above, there are so many alternatives on the market - plus, making them took forever, and good cores were increasingly difficult to find. I decided to focus more time and effort on my unique-to-market products. That said, I'm actually unveiling a slightly different version within the month! These will be a "semi-semi-solid engine mount", in that they'll retain the hydraulic dampening AND have added urethane injected into the bottom to both support the mount and mildly stiffen it up. These will be brand new OEM mounts that are upgraded, so there will no longer be a core exchange program - install these and toss your old ones. It's an ideal solution for someone who needs new motor mounts, is hesitant to get all-out semi-solid mounts due to NVH concerns, but is looking for a mild sporty performance edge. Plus, the urethane support delivers added reliability so that you're not having to change them out every 10 to 15k miles when they start sagging again!

Subscribed Its the ultimate best of both worlds (performance and comfort) by the sounds of it!

POST 6Original post

Sounds like a awesome compromise. My current plan was to just swap fresh OEM every year or two once they softened up too much. This will safe me the trouble.
