Not sure if this belongs here or in the general area, so I apologize if it should be elsewhere. I am planning to attend an estate auction on 5/27 where there is a 1999 911 Carrera listed for sale. Odometer shows 21707 miles. I read the Rennlist preowned 996 buyer's guide below and some other referenced info and, frankly, I am a little concerned. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...ing-guide.html Concerns include: Not sure what the process is going to be at the auction, but I am assuming a PPI will not be possible. With such low miles, I am concerned that the car has been sitting for long periods. Open questions about what has gone wrong from not being started, driven, etc. Service history and documentation? We shall see. Safe to drive and allowed to do so? See number 2 above. Etc. etc. Bottom line, I am interested in taking a look at the car, but if it is limited to a look, touch, possibly drive, and then make a bidding/purchase decision, I am not sure I am willing to take the chance even if I like the car. Too many things that could be hiding and just waiting for me to get it to a shop to find out. Anyone purchased in this situation (i.e. limited investigation) before? Any advice? Thanks

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.
