Ive heard rumors that a 997 glass convertible top with hardware can bolt on to a a 996. I've got a rare opportunity to go to Berlin on a Porsche junkyard tour. My top needs replacing and this seems like a nice way to go. I tried a few searches and can't seem to find anything. On on a side note, would it be worth picking up a used suspension there or any other goodies. I'm new to my 996 and not sure what to look for. Thanks for for your help in advance...

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I don't mean to throw cold water on your plan, but it's difficult to imagine that you'll find any savings by buying parts in a German junkyard to send back to the U.S. (if that's where they're going). The parts are typically more expensive in Germany. Then there's the transportation costs, customs fees, etc..
Just enjoy the food, and source your parts here in the US where you will find returns much easier to address if it doesn't fit.
