Browsing ebay and sites for years always looking. And finally. Checks every box except the upgraded aluminum stick. And it's close. 2 hours. And a Raby certified indy is close to where the car is. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2001-Porsch...IAAOSwTitbsnbG The stars may be aligning for me to get back in a 996

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 owners. 2 accidents. Went from Florida to Nevada to Ohio. It had lots of services done at Gaudin Ford which I assume is the same as Gaudin Porsche. Wonder if they will send me records?
I'd want full records of what was done in the accident(s). I feel like once these things are bent they are never exactly the same again. For what it's worth that's the same asking price on the car I bought 3 years ago with fewer miles and no accidents. Don't get too hung up on your dream car if it turns out to have problems under the surface!

I've been following this one. It's been listed a couple of times on ebay. I think the original buy it now price was 20,000.
Thats a 15k car at best.
not being a smart ***, but your 'dream car' is a 5 owner, 2 accident, fried egg 996 currently living in ohio winters?
I emailed the guy. Told him I was interested but there were issues and I would come see the car and get PPI if he would be negotiable on the price. His lowest was $17,500 so I'm passing. And the accidents were listed as under carriage damage whatever that means. As far as dream car - silver carrera 4 996.1, 6 speed with black full leather, 18 inch sport classics, rear wiper, factory litronics. Don't really care about the history or accidents as long as properly repaired. As long as the body and interior leather (not counting the seats) are in good shape everything else can be fixed.
Car looks clean. If it passed a PPI without any glaring issues I don't think 17k is unreasonable. I just spent the better part of the past 3-4 months searching for a 996 and from my experience if winter wasn't fast approaching, or this car was on the west coast, it probably wouldn't last long for that price.
says "showroom condition and immaculate" and has had 2 wrecks? I'd pass

Did you notice the dealer tag on the back? Typical of ebay sales where the dealer is trying to make it look like a private listing. https://www.firstgearautogroup.com/2...3/Details.aspx Oh, and this "First Gear Auto Group" only paid $13K for it at auction. Looks like they're trying to pocket $5,000. Business is business.

I'd say "wrecks" is highly subjective at best... With the cost to fix these cars being sky high, anything less than a "total" from an insurance company means that it wasn't actually too bad of an accident - certainly not what I would call a "wreck". While I probably wouldn't pay $17k for a car with two accidents, If I were in the market to buy a car I wouldn't automatically disqualify it without further research...
