I just picked up a 2000 911 Cabrio and need help with heating/cooling. Vent doors don't move. Found the temp actuator (it is working) as well as the defroster actuator (it too is working). I looked up along the passenger side wall under the dash. I see one there but my fat hands don't fit. Is there a way to remove part of the dash for access. Question #2....how many of these actuators are on this car? Have been looking for an owners manual also. Any help is MUCH appreciated.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

For instructions on how to take the dashboard apart, do a search on "foam in vents" which will probably give you the info you seek. Pictures too. As far as an owner's manual, I haven't been too successful in finding one online and am still hoping the previous owner of my car will find the original. Ebay is an option, but rather pricey IMHO. Good luck and welcome to the family!
