Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

That's a lot of tape. Someone should tell them the headlights come off in 20 seconds.

POST 4Original post

^^Right! Also, what about overspray? Mine looked like that and I just wiped on and wiped off some liquid restorer and they came out great. I thought I was going to have to do the whole nine but no...Just need to uv seal them now.

why throw shade on this guy? You've been here since 2016 and throw up a motor mount thread?🙃 Motor mounts; Are there right and left specific parts?😁

POST 7Original post

What is that wand the guy is using at the end?

Looks like a uv light. Did he cut the surface before spraying the clear?

To answer a few of your questions: They looked pretty bad before I had them done, I'll look but I don't think I have a picture of them. I've done 5 headlight Restorations on different cars over the years, and these were the worst at the beginning, and the best looking at the end. yes that's a UV light. it cost $85. I told the guy before we started that I could just pop the lights out real quick so he could do it off the car, and he said he would rather not because he didn't want to have to brace the lights outside of the car and possibly break something. he did not get over spray anywhere. also, this is the same guy that tinted my windows that day. He did a fantastic job. His name is Daniel Camacho and if you want I can give you his contact number.

Looks like a pretty simple job and well worth $85. Luckily mine still look great after 18 years and 77k miles.

POST 13Original post

Interesting. Apparently it's something you can DIY -> https://www.klear.us/products

The drivers side was pretty rough. I've done the diy version and unless you have a uvlight and the pro stuff, it doesn't last.

I'm curious what the MSDS says the ingredients are, and if such benefits can be had from another less expensive source. In other words, what's in the spray can, such as urethane, which typically sells for much less than $89/can.

The trend right now on products similar to this is the company has two versions, a consumer and a "professional" version. They only sell the pro version to someone that's paid big money for the training. Usually only difference is the consumer version isn't as shiny and doesn't last very long. Ask me how I know...
