Anyone know a good/inexpensive welding shop who will do the fister mod on my spare mufflers? I've tried two places now and neither of them will do it, they seem to have lame excuses and didn't want to do automotive stuff. Thanks!

Yes, at Darin's shop, if your in the east bay then the drive to Brentwood is nothing. I had Darin install his Fister's on my car while I waited.

That's a no brainer....the biggest misconception on muffler mods is people who ask where can I go to get the Fister mod done. The only answer is FisterD.....contact Darin direct and get it done. Forget about this gundo or that hack or going to any muffler shop because it will never be a Fister can.
I'm new to the Porsche game. What is the Fister mod and what does it yield/cost? Thanks! Bill

One of the best mods you can do (IMO). It gives the car a great sound when on the gas and very quiet when just cruising. It does not improve HP but the sound makes you believe it does. Check out the following website for pricing. https://fdmotorsports.net/ .
+1 You are close enough for a day drive, lunch break while Darin does the install and you are home for dinner. Best mod for the dollar ever for the 996/997 cars. Enjoy.

PM sent on a possible swap.
I had Darrin install the mod at his shop in Brentwood w/ a great view of Mt Diablo. Worth the drive out, if you're in the Bay Area. You place your order, make an appointment and he has a replacement ready to exchange for your muffler. Install take about 1 1/2 hours. Best mod for this model. Get the sound of the flat six when you accelerate, otherwise a normal tone, with no drone.

I agree with your advice Sneaky Pete. That's what I did and Darin is a great person to do business with.
You're so close to Darin Fister, you might as well go to him directly. He doesn't just weld your cans, he actually swaps yours with a set of cans that he has reconditioned (to an extent) and also done the sound mod to. You can event get them ceramic coated etc for a marginal cost.
