Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have been searching for a while and all the reading and research I have done on my own with the 996, lead me to say 997 Gen 1 same engine (expect Carrera S) with newer style Aero, body and interior but around $10-$20k more which could be added to a 996 to customize it . Well now I've decided to just go with the 996, because I am looking for a very specific color Silver/Red coupe with Taco Wing. And with some coupes hovering around $16k to $20k, some with added options I want (Sport rims, 3 spoke rims, flared rockers, etc) Im not opposed to building my own 996 Taco with OEM parts for the right color combo or keep waiting until the right Taco comes up. I feel like the 996s are getting the same treatment as the 964 got when the market wasn't so great to them, to me they seem like the most bang for buck, if it has been taking care of and maintained.
