I just bought a 08 with the Triptronic Automatic. Next to the Shifter on the console are the letters P R N D M. Are those supposed to Light up Or are you just supposed to look at the indicators on the dash?

I do not believe the 996 Tiptronic shifter/gear selector is backlit. Triptronic would be a great name for a navigation app. *edit* I see you have a 997 - I do not know if the 997 gear selector lights up - sorry.

LOL I can't believe I didn't think of that pun. LOL I must be slipping or something.... Has anyone else ever seen lights on their console Letters? Oh and while I am asking Does anyone know what fuse goes to the Power External Mirrors? I have a switch on the way, but I'ed like to make sure that fuse is good without going through every fuse in the box.... Thank you all in advance

A small, folded reference guide should be clipped onto the back side of the fuse panel cover. This is the 997 one, since you mentioned that it's an '08. Just for grins, here's the 996 version of this info:

My '98 tip does not have any lights in the shifter console. Only the dash indicator. You would probably need to ask in the 997 forum for 997 specific information.
