Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

How do i remove the yellow/orange lens from inside the headlight?

POST 2Original post

I think that's just the bulb. You can get silver bulbs that flash orange at insert-auto-parts-store-here.

POST 3Original post

You can either remove the main lens to get to it, or do as some have done and melt it out with a soldering iron through the bulb socket hole. A Google search will turn up pictures and instructions for method 2.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks for the tip. looks like i'll be doing a little surgery.

POST 5Original post

I'm attaching a link to our site's DIY tech article on this procedure, hope it helps a bit and please let us know if you have any questions! http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti..._and_Bulbs.htm

POST 6Original post

Ivangene did an amberectomy (melting the lens and pulling it out) for my 996 and then showed me how to do it on my Son's boxster. I was able to do it in about 20 minutes my first time. Here is some discussion about that. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...berectomy.html Here is what the car looks like...also bought some silverized amber bulbs to eliminate or amber. Less than an hour to do both.
