The doors on my 2003 996TT are not locking with the key. (Both key fobs have not worked for years.) The alarm does set. I do not hear the 'click' when I turn the key to lock the door. I believe that it is the driver's door lock itself. Any opinions? Any help with parts and directions to repair is appreciated. I would like to do the repairs myself. David

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

There is a shaft on the inside part of the lock cylinder that has been known to come loose or slide out of position. Follow directions for removing the door card (like for replacing the window regulator) so you can get at the inside part of the door handle/lock cylinder. See parts here http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=804-20
Thanx. I will follow disassembly directions. It may just be a movement of the shaft.
