Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I guess maybe not "unnatural" but other than plain alloy. Is it possible that black or chrome Carrera or Turbo wheels were an OEM option, or should I assume that they've been refinished in the aftermarket?

POST 2Original post

Not sure about black. But chrome certainly was a factory option back then. Apparently there were enough people that want to drive a Porsche that looks like a Vette...

POST 3Original post

It wouldn't surprise me if there was a paint to sample wheel color option, but looking at the standard option list there is no black paint option for wheels. Silver (GT silver in the case of the 996 Turbo S), Polished, Chrome, and then the very fun and rare body color option. Throw in the 986S special edition that got a dark gray center for one last factory option.

POST 4Original post

might be showing off here, but mine came with body color wheels.
