Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 996.1 and I am looking to install a vacuum guage (VDO vision) I know i need to interrupt a vacuum line somewhere with a T to feed the tube that goes to the guage itself Looking for recommendations on the cleanest place to do this. For the shortest run it seems that tapping the line to the brake booster would be an idea, however this line is hard nylon with very little room to play with and i would not mind fishing it from the engine bay up to the dash. Is there some diagnostic port somewhere that is "unused" to tap in the engine bay? If not, what line would someone recommend ? Thanks!!!

POST 2Original post

The easiest place to tap into for real intake vacuum readings on the 996.1 engine is the Fuel Pressure Regulator... It is located on the passenger side (bank 2 ) fuel rail...

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the response. By fuel regulator you mean put a T onto the line that travels to the fuel regulatorm
