Does anyone know what the standard headlights are on the C4S if it does not have the bi-xenon option? Are they xenon on lowbeam and halogen on high or are they completely halogen based? Jason

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

all halogen no headlight nozzle nipple thingy, but still same projector lenses so hard to tell with lights off.
I think the 2002s only came as bi-xenon. After that, you could order them as halogens or as bi-xenon. ROK is right, if they are halogen, I don't think the little chrome caps for the headlight washers will be there.
Yeah I'm getting lots of answers on this one. A Porchse dealer is telling me all C4S's had bi-xenon after 2002. The car I'm looking at is far away so I want to be sure! No xenon's is a deal breaker for me.
Actually I am looking at the option sheet for the 2002 C4S right now and it shows "Option P04" as bi-xenon headlamps so I think the dealer is incorrect.
My option sheet for my 2002 C4S shows "M601 Litronic headlights". However, my lights are bi-xenon. I guess Porsche continued to call them Litronic on MK II, even though they are not the same as the original Litronics.

Jay.......dood.......the wrong headlights are a deal breaker? You can always upgrade the lights.

That's what put it over the top :-) It was a CPO car but severly lacking in the options I want. I have the time to find the exact car I want and that's what I plan to do. I've driven a 996 with the halogen lights and they suck compared to the bi-xenon's.
Well.....find the one you want than. Good Luck!

ROK is correct. The standard in 02 was all halogen. If you were looking at pics, and you do not see the silver cap thing on the lights for the washer nozzle...chances are that they are halogens. It is better to buy the car with the bi-xenons as it comes wired with beam stabilization sensors etc. You can hack your way into upgrading to bi-xenons but the beam adjustment stuff will not work on it as your car won't be wired for it. -Manil
