Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry for the low quality iPhone photo... I'll post some higher quality photos once it warms up a little and I can properly detail the car. I just spent the last 2-1/2 days on a cross country drive in the 996. Picked it up in the Los Angeles area and drove it to northern Indiana. It's funny - I've read all the comments about the 996 not being as "connected to the road" as the 993, etc. All I can say is - that's BS! This is a great road car! After driving a Cayenne S as my DD, the 996 feels very connected to the road. 3 days into 996 ownership, I'm very happy. For those of you who are concerned about such things, you'll notice that the pumpkins are already gone...

POST 2Original post

Wow, that's a beautiful color combo. Congrats and enjoy it in good health! ///Michael

POST 3Original post

Great looking P-car! Glad to hear she's treating you right.

POST 4Original post

Congrats! Now please take next picture @ the right angle... the big fat ***

POST 7Original post

Nice color! Though it does look like it's ready to go off roading or though some snow capped mountain roads.

POST 8Original post

Beautiful color and if I might say - great year and great model "4S" - although I might be a bit prejudiced!

POST 9Original post

Way to go, sounds like you had time to get to know each other on the way home! Nice colors!

POST 10Original post

Beautiful. Is that Lapis or Atlas? Savannah interior? It's either your phone pic, my computer, or my being color blind. It's true. Use it well!

I actually looked at a Speed Yellow C4S with black interior and yellow stitching... gotta love that combo too. We got to know each other a bit over the last couple of days... it was all good, but I'm glad to be home. Just took the wife for a ride (in the car - driving - you perverts)... she was pleased with the purchase. She's taking the Cayenne now, and she is quite pleased about that.

See!! I am colorblind. That's a great combination. One of the prettier ones I've seen. Enjoy!!

POST 15Original post

Yeah the 996 is a great road trip car. Comfortable, fast, and "connected". I've driven back and forth across the country several times and it's always a fun experience.

<whispers> seen? thats like a blind guy saying you look nice

POST 18Original post

beautiful.... I remember my drive home with the 996 (GA->NJ).... through the blue ridge mountains. Anyway, love the natural leather. Leather package?...... enjoy in good health.

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yep... full leather... I really like it. The bolster on the driver's seat is a little worn... I'd like to touch it up if possible, but overall it's very good. I love the torque this car has in 5th and even 6th gear. I can't wait to drive it again tomorrow.

POST 20Original post

Congrats - wonderful vintage! The 4s is certainly a car that will continue to impress you. I just took a spirited drive in mine yesterday, even after having it for a year, I still feel like I have not gotten close to exploring it's limits. More pics! More pics!

There's a 5th and 6th gear?? You must have been going 110+ mph to find those !!!

POST 22Original post

Dennis, very nice! I love blue cars. The '04 996 I had was Lapis Blue.

No doubt, for long distance trips I will take my 996 over any of my other, well maybe my 997 as well. Welcome to the club, you drove the car enough miles to really enjoy the heck out of it. Something about these cars that captures a part of you that makes you want to drive the car for no reason than sheer pleasure.

"Seen" as in my mind's eye. Gotta have a good imagination on this board.

POST 26Original post

Nice Automobile. Great color. And most importantly, you like your new ride. Congratulations.

POST 27Original post

Phil, it is a good thing your father caught you masturbating when he did, so you ended up being only color blind and not totally blind!

POST 28Original post

Congratulations! What a great way to get to know your new car. Enjoy it in good health,

POST 29Original post

Wow, I really like the darker brown leather with the blue exterior! Classic look! Really nice, enjoy it. Now lets see some interior shots!!

POST 30Original post

Lovely car. It's a great feeling to drive it, indeed; enjoy it every day!

Explains why my father was color blind too. Come to think of it (and I guess I did), we both had kind of hairy palms....

Welcome again to the Big Club. Great to also hear the drive was enjoyable and you arrived safely.

POST 38Original post

Dennis, Welcome to the 4S club. I think you will like it here. Now that you already took care of the pumpkins, may I suggest the DIY MkI muffler mod, and a BMC F1 free flow air filter (I'll give you a good deal on mine if you want).

POST 39Original post

Nice looking Porsche Dennis....what a great way to get connected to a new ride by driving it home from Calif. Congrats!

I actually had Walter's Porsche of Riverside, CA change the pumpkins out as soon as the car passed the PPI. Sooo... I have never actually driven it with the pumpkins in place.

hehe good man! Wow, Walters Porsche is about 10 mins away from me. Those guys know their stuff. Enjoy in good health.

POST 45Original post

Nice colors....and, yes, it really is a good road car. I've liked the torque, feel and ergonomics of the 996 so-o-o much better than the 993. Good luck with it.

POST 47Original post

I remember driving back to Colorado from Indiana after visiting my parents. 18 hours only stopping for gas. It was a great drive.
