Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Im in the process of refreshing the rear suspension in my 2000 996. Purchased Meyle lower control arms (coffins?, 99634194101) and upper trailing arm (tuning fork, 997.331.04.30). Compared to the original Porsche arms, where the upper trailing arm attaches to the lower arm using the M12-70mm bolt, theres a gap of about 1 mm between the prongs of the tuning fork and the bushing, whereas the original Porsche pieces have much less, about 0.2 mm. Has anyone else found this, is this amount of play an issue?

POST 2Original post

I think Lee Sibly went thru this exercise in one of his ninewerks videos. You may want to check.

POST 3Original post

Im pretty sure that when those bolts/nuts are torqued to the proper value those gaps will be gone

POST 5Original post

Yes, I just went through this with my suspension. Once torqued all was well.
