Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just picked my first Porsche, I can't stop looking at it or listening to it.... I love it! Great site as well. I do have one question though. In the second picture, I noticed a drop of oil on the bracket with the arrow pointing to it. Can any one tell me what that is and if its a DIY type of job to complete. Any help would be greatful. Thanks! 99' C2 Midnight Blue

POST 3Original post

Welcome to the funny farm! Enjoy the new toy! ...poor Tim, another newbie posting pics and another missed opportunity.

POST 4Original post

Car looks great, not sure about that oil line, but shouldn't cost much to get it replaced if necessary. But hey, what is up with that "Organ Donor" license plate on a Porsche?

POST 5Original post

Welcome ! Enjoy your Porsche and don't worry for the leak... there is almost always one on a 911

POST 7Original post

Congrats on the new car and welcome to the world of Porsche. I was the same way last June when I bought mine.

POST 8Original post

Congrats on the 996. Is your concern that it's two different type of fittings? Does the line seem to be loose in the bracket? Sorry, it's just not clear what you're concerned about.

POST 9Original post

yes, welcome to your new life (you won't be needing the old one any more!) Wipe the area with the oil and see if shows uo again, might not be a leak at all but just a careless drip from a detailer doing something? GL Ed

Tim, Did you cut this one some slack because of the car color? Not that you would be biased or anything -td

POST 14Original post

Quotes source post: 5747362

I'm still waiting for Tim's old car to show up here - you know it will happen.

POST 16Original post

Congrats from a fellow Arizonan. Is the color actually called "midnight blue," or is it "ocean blue." I had a boxster that was OB, great color. Sorry, I can't help on the leak...never seen or hear of a leak from there. Scott.

TD, nah, I didn't even have the chance to cut him some slack, since that was his first post on Rennlist. However, the color of his car would have made me, shall we say, more tolerant than usual. Now, if this car was silver, that would be another story!!!

POST 18Original post

I don't want it to show up here, because it will make me cry when I find out how much (translation how little) the new owner paid for it.

Good point... not something that you want to learn. Congrats on hitting 9K posts!

POST 20Original post

Nice car, great color...they all drip a little, don't sweat it. Welcome to a great forum.

Yeah, only 1,000 more to go. I have 3 times the number od posts than Phil has miles on his C4S.

POST 23Original post

Quotes source post: 5749744

muahahahaha!! Even I have more posts than he has miles on his car.... come to think of it, so does Tippy. So, do you think you can do 1000 posts in 1 month?

POST 24Original post

I think 1k posts/mo would be considered "Going Postal"

POST 26Original post

Congratulations. More pictures please. Great color!

POST 29Original post

Congratulations, Blue. Welcome to Rennlist. Enjoy. Bob

POST 30Original post

Beautiful car! I know the feeling of owning one for the first time ... almost like a dream. Not sure what you're asking about the hose and connection??? Doesn't look like a leak.

More posts than miles? Now, THAT hurts.

POST 32 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, for all the replies. I'll post some more pic's as soon as I can.
