I have a 01 C2 tip. Shifting from 1st to 2nd always happens around 6200 RPM either in M or A. All other gears always shift around 7000 RPM. 3rd to 4th shifts at 7200 RPM. The problem with shifting from 1st at 6200 is you drop down to 4100 RPM where there is a little hesitation before the RPM's go up quickly. Is there any way to get the transmission to shift at 7K in 1st gear. I've tried disconnectiong the battery but this has no effect. Thanks.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

when you're in Manual mode it's automatically shifting at 6200?
Yes it does.
Could this be like my Audi tiptrtonic? In tip mode, unless you punch it/nail it to the floor, it automatically shifts from 1st to 2nd to avoid any issues. If you're in 1st and just slightly hit the gas, the car shifts from 1st to 2nd around 4-5K whether you shift or not. The only way you get it to red line in 1st is just nailing the pedal.
I believe it was a safe guard to protect you from hitting the rev limiter as the trans gets older and slips a little more to 2nd. Mine started to slip a little more over time to the point it would hit the rev limiter in 3rd.
