Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This may be in the faq, but I wasn't able to find it. When applying the brake I hear multiple clicking noises coming from the pedal area. Sounds like a switch being opened and closed repeatedly. Any suggestions as to what this might be? 99 C2 is the car

POST 2Original post

I never hear a clicking sound. I guess if you have a faulty brake light switch you might be able to hear one click when the pedal is depressed and repleased, but I have no idea why you would be hearing a continuous clicking sound from the pedal area. Might be a faulty relay in the relay panel on the left side of the firewall. Get under the dash and apply the brake and see if you can hear where it is coming from. I suggest that you do so when the car is parked and not moving down the highway.

POST 3Original post

There is definitely is a click when depressing and and then another when letting off the clutch pedal (micro switch)...not sure about the brake. I will have to pay attention to that tonight on the way home.
