Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Picking up 40th Anniv #151 on Friday in Atlanta & driving back to NY. Should be a nice way to get acquainted with the car. I'll post pictures after I get it cleaned up.

POST 2Original post

Congrats! Looking forward to seeing the pics. I agree that a roadtrip with a new car is the best way to get acquainted.

POST 4Original post

wooohoooo post some dirty pics too.... some of us are a bit "twisted" that way congrats!

POST 5Original post

No doubt you'll have a blast with your 40th. Be sure you pack a radar detector, your Porsche will be tempting the 'loud' pedal by the time you hit 5th gear! GL and enjoy the ride.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Radar detector - packed, GPS - packed, sunglasses - packed, cash - I think I have some quarters & dimes left.... Pics when I return

The sheriff in Georgia will accept a man's wife as a bail? What possible incentive is that to appear at any future court hearings?

Like Phil? Congrats on #151 -- cool stuff!

Congrats! Good luck on the drive home! I picked my 40th up in Maryland and drove her back to Oklahoma. My drive was in late January so I bet you'll have better weather...

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well we made it home Sat afternoon. 1,000 miles & 15 hours of seat time. I think we know each other pretty well already. Outside of some downpours & fog, the drive was pretty easy. Absolutely no car problems. Cruised at 80-85 most of the way & had to occasionally go a bit faster....Love the torque of this engine. Can't wait to get some track time. Pictures later today. Already on order: - B&M short shift - Bumper plugs - Side markers

POST 16Original post

Way to go, but post some pics pronto before Tim bans you for life!

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oh I'm well aware of the potential bashing I could take for not posting pics. Thanks for your patience so far. Pics later today!

POST 18Original post

Congratulations....but no pics is a serious offense here! #151 huh? It's only appropriate that you celebrate in kind with none other than the Demon Rum Bacardi - 151. Now those are some pics that'll be worth posting

Me?? Dirty videos???

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have a couple of "shots" of 151 on me! Sorry no dirty pictures. I had to wash it....

POST 21Original post

Jeff, I was just getting ready to crank up the "Newbie Initiation" but then I saw the pics in the above post! Sweet looking car! Congrats and Welcome to Rennlist.

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Tim, trust me I tried to get pictures up before I got your lashing. I've been lurking on & off since 2002. Never had a decent enough Pcar or knowledge to chime in much. My others were earlier 911's, 914 & 951. They were fun, but this one beats them hands down!

POST 23Original post

What makes the 40th annv. special? Does it have special equipment? Phil p.s. Beautiful ride. Enjoy her!!

POST 24 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

X51 engine package, lowered suspension, LSD, the fancy badges, turbo front bumper, different rocker panels, GT silver paint. Only 1963 made.

POST 25Original post

Nice looking special addition, good pics and no doubt a great ride home. Now ask Mr. Bicardi to come over to celebrate with you. Nice to hear that an 'evolved' 996 is more fun than your older Porsches.

POST 26Original post

what a beauty! thanks for the search of a new car!!!

POST 28Original post

Quotes source post: 6676859

Interesting - the previous owner apparently removed the L&R front grilles in the front bumper and replaced them with black plastic ones (or just painted 'em black) - the 40th cars come with GT Silver grilles on the sides, with just the central one being black. Enjoy the car, I have loved mine (it's going away in 3 months when new GT3 arrives)...

POST 29 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 6682949

Hmmm... I'll have to take a look. I don't they're painted, but I just looked them over quickly when I was looking at the scuffs on the bottom black lip. No damage reports from the initial inspection or carfax.

AKA - "Special" relly nice ! Enjoy it!

Good eye! I missed that. It also looks lower than mine in the rear. Could just be the angle it's sitting at or the angle of the photograph though...

POST 32Original post

Please tell me that those wheels are not CHROMED!

POST 33 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 6685300

No, not chromed. Standard blasted finished - they're just clean.

POST 34Original post

4oth comes with polished wheels and polished exhaust tips.

POST 36Original post

I would be curious what kind of price you paid for it? There is one locally with low miles but they have it priced around 48k. Seems like they should be low 40's or high 30's?

POST 37Original post

Congrats on the ride. I wish I had looked around a bit harder for a Anniversary when I bought my 996. But hey...Guards Red is hard to beat.

POST 38 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 6690280

Guards red C4S was my fall back car if the 40th deal fell thru. Guards red needs to be seen in person to appreciate it. Pictures don't do it justice.
