I went to the local dealer today and took a new 997 S out for a spin. My first impression was that the 997 S handles much better than a 996. The car felt tight and the suspension was stiffer than 996. It has much more power and torque than the 996. The inerior is very cool. It has alot of alum. accents and the instruments as well as the electonics are state-of-the art. Nevertheless, I like the 996 C4S body better than the 997 S. Bottom line, I don't see enough value in the 997 to take a major hit on my 03 996 plus pay around $95K for the 997 S. However, it had to choose between a MY2005 C4S and a 997S, it would be a hard to decide.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.
