Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello All, Regulars know I decided to pick up my '02 Targa last Fri. The transaction was an 8/10 for buying a car from afar. Overall, it is in excellent condition. Minor scratch on the engine cover, some rub marks and a minor scratch on the front bumper. Interior is flawless. New tires are needed (age & wear related), PPI revealed a variocam oil leak that the independent dealer covered. Porsche of Lexington, KY did the fix AND then did a 30K service + brake fluid flush for $740 ($220 less than the Nashville dealer quoted me and they didn't charge for the PPI b/c I did the 30K service). The 3 hour drive back was awesome. I'm totally thrilled with the Targa. I'd never driven one but it is perfect for me - daily commuting mostly with roof closed but feeling airy, weekend fun (and fun was had) with roof open. It has a much more open feel than the removable panel my old 968 had. Just as important, my wife LOVES it too and took it out three times this weekend for little errands, and my 3 year old loves his Britax booster seat in back. This brings to satisfying conclusion a 5 month search. This forum was an indispensable help. I signed up as a member this morning and look forward to continuing to enjoy this great community. I anticipate doing some mods over time, and really want 18s because especially the front 17s just don't fill out the wheel well enough. Need to find a killer deal/swap! Finally, I PROMISE to post some of my own pics. But I only got the interior detailed yesterday and need to do the exterior next weekend. These are the dealer pics. Regards to all, Piccia '02 Targa, Seal Gray/Black '02 Audi allroad - interim car (wife got a minivan) For Sale '04 Audi S4 - Sweet engine, killer seats, not a coupe, no soul... '02 Honda S2000 - torque starved & loud on hwy. '95 Porsche 968 - should have never sold it....

Very nice! I think I have seen those pictures before...was it listed on eBay? If you really want to fill in those wheel wells you will need to lower it (IMO). 18s are bigger wheels but the height of the wheel and tire is about the same. Smart move on the PPI. Pesonaly I love the Targa and I am sure it is only going to get better for you. Enjoy!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

jsaindc - yes, the car was recently on ebay but I'd seen it for some time on Autotrader too. Dealer got it in Nov. but it hadn't sold. I had been talking to him before the last ebay listing so did a regular purchase.

The reason I remember seeing that car is because it was sooooo nice. Congratulations and good choice all around. Can't wait to see some interior shots.

POST 7Original post

Car looks great, congrats. The targa top really does provide a great open air feeling. I suspect you'll also come to appreciate the flexibility the hatch provides.
