Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, I've just removed my coolant expansion tank but while getting ready to put everything together I noticed there are two hoses with nowhere to go. The first one comes out of the power steering pump and appears to have no connecting point. You can see it highlighted in the first picture with a red circle. Should this remain hanging as it was when I found it? The second one is a vacuum hose that comes out of the junction circled in blue. This hose goes all the way to the back of the car and wraps around to the driver's side of the vehicle. I think it's for the PSE valve that I have disabled and removed but I want to make absolutely sure. The end of it is circled in red. Thanks for the help everyone!

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ah I should have done a search...I think the first one is just a breather hose. The second one is probably for my PSE. If someone can confirm I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

POST 4Original post

Breather hose should be looped over and clipped into the clip above the A/C compressor. Dunno about the other one.

Yup, Doug is correct, there is a small clip visible two inches to the right of where the hose connects and the breather curves over and clips in there. The second one is definitely the vacuum line for the PSE. You have disconnected you say, but suggest you block off all the ends as you don't want a vacuum leak in the system. I am not sure if vacuum is on to the valves by default or not, so blank them off.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks everyone. I clipped the breather hose to the little clamp and I'll figure out a way to plug the other vacuum line.
