Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

That car is a whole other level. Incredible feedback, response, corner bite, power, .... and that exhaust note... ... I'm ruined

POST 2Original post

Time to go to the next level on your 996! We can help!

I bet ! Honestly, our cars are so good for ACH because the power we already have is enough to get us into big trouble. Some of the guys driving the GT3s and various other cars treat that road like its a racetrack and its not. Hence the #respectthecrest ... What mods are on yours? Suspension and a Gundo hack will be a game changer on yours in both noise and feel. PS Im going up to GVBC on 8/23, LMK if youre down/able to join.

Well yeh, almost any car can get into trouble on ACH, just given all the constant wrecks and over-cliff crashes (did you see the mangled BMW from last week? and that Dennis was almost killed by a GTR that lost control?). I avoid the busy times now (including Friday mornings) as we do push (within reason). Weekday's around 10-12 are wide open. I know the limits on my Cab, but driving the GT3 it felt limitless! I don't have any mods on mine, and won't as I'd rather put funds into a coupe that I can properly track. The cab will stay stock. I'm pretty much skipping Fridays now because the meet up has just gotten out of control and dangerous with burnouts and double yellow crossings. If anything we go up around 11 when it's pretty much empty again.

A 996 coupe with the PROPER suspension set-up, tires, brakes, LSD and seats is a night and day different drive than a stock 996. Add in software and an aftermarket exhaust system that saves substantial weight, boosts your power a bit and provides sound will give you a smile from ear to ear. It becomes limitless just like a GT.

Nope.....no it doesnt. (Although the smiles per miles will still be very high)

POST 7Original post

The limitless nature of the car has a direct correlation to driver skill and the size of their ***** When I drove up to Good Vibes with Simon and bunch of other folks I got all the smiles I needed from my friends stock 997.1 S. On canyon roads, anything beyond that has to do with the overall experience and sound the car provides. To me at least. Nobody cares how fast you got to the top of the mountain but they will all remember the guy who went off the road. Can't argue with a screaming Mezger at 8k+ rpms!

+1 on the screaming 8k+ rpm sensation (especially through the tunnel!). I think it is all a bit subjective where the "limit" is. Some would say surpassing the speed limit at all is reckless.... All I can say is, I'm craving that GT3 feeling again, the utter overly confident front end, the stomach feel at full send, etc. But of course, I'm sure after a few years of that, I'd be looking for the next "high" I am lucky to have the Crest only 10 minutes away, so a lunch drive happens at least 2-3 times a month. Sometimes more if I take the motorcycle. Though on the bike, I'm the old geezer holding everyone up

POST 10Original post

Any 911 that is properly set-up, there is no substitute.

Very jelly! The driving there is so fantastic, especially as you go deeper into the canyons. After Good Vibes, I literally spent the next several hours driving all those roads and only came down to get more gas and some tacos. You know they would be good because I had to order in Spanish

POST 12Original post

OP - You must never, ever, ever get behind the wheel of a 992 GT3! Fast as a 997 Cup with street tires and seats. And 9,000 rpm…whoa. If I ever have a spare 3 hundy…
