Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I bought the car and the wheels were powdercoated black with a yellow time attack. I absolutely hated them and didn't even want to look at the car. After my first track day when I got home I decided to paint them I sanded them down, primered, painted, clear coat. Im gonna let this one soak in since I love these wheels..... as for now, I think you should of painted it silver. Kudos for being diff though.

POST 3Original post

They pop! That green reminds me of the AMC gremlin.

POST 4Original post

I've considered white, red and green for wheels on my black '99, but honestly haven't pulled the trigger on any choices. You can always sand and paint again if your color choice changes.

POST 5Original post

Definitely different. Hats off for being unique.....but its not my first choice.

POST 6Original post

"Unique" colors often grow tiresome in a short amount of time. That's both the plus and the minus. Call me a traditionalist, but I'd have opted for silver...that classic look of a black car with silver wheels. And by the way, I do like the design of those BBS wheels.

POST 7Original post

I thought they looked better before - if it is a dedicated track car the green is fine... I would not drive them on the road - a tad much for me

POST 8Original post

they looks good, but you need the Green Mirror Caps....

Hehe, I was thinking to go that green, you almost need MORE green! Defiantly get you noticed

POST 10Original post

Looks great! Your car will now be known as the 996 with the green wheels.

POST 11Original post

I actually like the black on black better, but it's your car. Maybe a few more accents the color of the wheels.

POST 12Original post

That's funny - you couldn't stand to look at your car with black wheels (which actually looked good), and you decided to go green? Those wheels are burning my retinas. At least you're only out $35.

POST 14Original post

Got mine painted flat back to match the tips and decal. Had the wheel bolts powder coated but the paint still chipped when the wheels were put on.

POST 15Original post

You spray painted BBS wheels? Ugh, I don't feel well. The glass half full answer is "at least you can take it off and try again!'"

POST 16Original post

look at it that this. If you are not diffrent, you are like everyone else... and i for one am not everyone else. Looks awesome, paint the Mirror Caps to, need some green on the Top half of the Car.

POST 17Original post

OK, I'm gonna stand with you on this one... gulp. My personal taste opinion is that you should select one of the vendors on this site to provide you with ===== CARRERA ===== side stripes in that same color. Then the wheels are not just floating out there in black space when your eye catches them.

POST 18Original post

Nice start but needs more work... Mirror Housings and Wing Blade - Green Calipers and Tail Lights - Black

POST 20Original post

Please tell us that you just Photo Chopped these pictures. If not, you'll need to add some green somewhere else as others have said.

I agree with Ed here. green wheels for everyday use is a bit over the top but on the track id label them unique. Add some matching magnetics or decals and u will stand out from the crowd on track days. The original color with yellow stripe complimented the yellow calipers. I always dig yellow calipers on a black car.

Agreed. You should either go further with the green, or go back to silver. Do what YOU want.

I agree that it needs more green, side stripes and mirrors would complete it imo.
