Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello folks: Just wondering if anyone knows this TT or has dealt with the dealer? Car is in Phoenix, Arizona. Many thanks http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

POST 2Original post

TT looks too good to be true. Clearly this "private owner" is in the business of selling cars. Suggest an email to some of the prior buyers on the seller's credibility. Good Luck.

POST 3Original post

There has to be something wrong with it good price almost what I paid and mine isn't a Turbo damn!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

He has it on his site for 39900, along with his other inventory. I've had a few emails off him. Maybe it's because of the mileage. I'm not keen on the CPU upgrade and other mods though. He's licensed dealer in Az. and told me the car has not been tracked, but did not know if the clutch has been replaced, but did say he could get hold of the service records. Probably going to pass on it though.

POST 5Original post

Here's a TT for $36750 I looked at it yesterday and the sellers description does not match the car. It has has significant paint work and not the best job. The front bumper cover is on crooked, the left front fender well is hanging and missing lots of mounting hardware. The headlight covers are not very clear and look like they have been sanded and a chemically attacked. The calipers look to have been overheated and poorly repainted. Overall the car looks quite rough. You would be money ahead to pay up to $10k more for one in better shape. Looking inside, it has not been cared for. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Turbo...item5887df30ac

Do not know personally however it has been fore sale for sometime now.

POST 7Original post

One owner car with an Autocheck score of 94? If it passes PPI, then what's not to like besides the year and mileage? That color is beautiful. ///Michael

POST 8Original post

If this is the guy I tried to buy a 993 from in 2006 then coincidentally met on an airplane six months later. I would trust what he says like he was a used car dealer. I'm just glad I didn't buy that car. But I'm not exactly sure if this is the same company. But either way, don't listen to dealer or believe ANYTHING they say. I have yet to find an honest one/one that doesn't stretch the truth/forget to mention something.

It sounds a bit too good to be true and I don't like the mods. On the plus side you can get the service records and the ad mentions car serviced at Becks which may be a dealer/indy shop you can call with the car's VIN and find out what services and when were done to the car. If it has regular services that's a plus. My advice is to keep looking though. I think you can find better but if you can't I suspect this car's not going anywhere soon. Sincerely, Macster.

POST 10Original post

Orient Red, although nice, is a HARD color to sell. I also think someone else posted on this car a while back. I remember seeing his other 996 in the background all covered in dust etc.

POST 11Original post

Don't put a lot of faith in Autocheck scores. The crooks in the business have learned how to get the scores up on otherwise low scoring vehicles. I saw a TT with 82XXX miles listed as 8XXX miles, this upped the score, the correct mileage was listed in the description. No reported accidents does not mean no body work or repainting.
