These are the 2-way shocks specified for the 996 Spec series. I ran them for 1 year and have since gone to Moton Club Sports. They're currently at a JRZ shop being checked out so they'll be in perfect shape. They come with the spec'd 700/900 Eibach springs and tenders, collars, and perches. I won't have them back for another week and I'll post pics then. The same package new from JRZ is $4,200., I'll sell these for $ 2,900. PM me if you have any interest... JR Gordon

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

JR are you not running the Spec class anymore? I would be very interesed... If I can get my wife to forget her trip to Europe this year.

No I left spec last year as the other 4 so cal builds weren't running. I wanted to race for a championship so I chose to run in our (POC) GT3 class which is the same parameters as NASA's GTS4, and NASA's ST2 class with the corvettes and mazda GT's. I dropped 200 lbs, flashed the ECU, and viola, I had a pretty fast and nimble little 996. I had a blast last year and look forward to 2011. Ran the first race last weekend and missed a 4-5 upshift hittting 3rd. It only lasted a mili-second but I hit 8500 rpm's. No immediate damage other than it went into limp, but we'll see if it stays together. I was leading class at the time but came back and won Sunday's race. Here's the video, missed shift at 4:00. Those are all 6 and 7 cups in front of me..... http://vimeo.com/19918055
What a shame... still great driving when you got back on track.

The JRZ's are great. Europe will be there next year.
Damn, I bot some a few months ago, but we have a few pending SPEC996 builds so you should be able to move these soon.
That is what I told her last year when I bought that Beretta O/U...

So what happened to correct "limp mode" Is that a restraint built in that needs to be reset? TIA

Self corrected after a few minutes off in the pits. Went back out and turned a few 1:27:0's which is close to my qual laps.... http://vimeo.com/19919052
JR I should get you & Mike to help me strip my car down too fighting weight!
I would really like a Rennlister to buy these JRZ's, so I'll list some purchasing options if that helps anyone here. They haven't been dropped off to ERP (JRZ rebuilder) yet, they're sitting in my car. So...I'll offer them 3 ways: As previously listed rebuilt with springs, etc. for $2,900. Without rebuilding them for $2,500. with springs, etc. They really don't need anything besides one new adjuster I lost. They work perfectly but I thought they would market better rebuilt. Includes the needed adjuster. Without rebuilding and without springs, hats, etc. for $2,250. It's a good deal in any of the above configurations.....
Payment plan...? My son in trade for the shocks

996 Spec weight is 2850 which is can isn't that difficult to make complying with the Spec rules. Now if you want to get close to my fighting weight you'll need lexan all around, lightweight doors and hood, pare down the wiring harness and dump your dash, and you'll get close. There's another 99' here in So Cal that's 100lbs. lighter than me with a complete wiring harness but CF dash. Some of it's in his lighter cage and CF body parts, but still the car is 100 lbs. lighter than my 99'....
WOW! the load behind the wheel needs some work in my case as well....
off topic, but I love how limp home mode still allows the car to do 89mph... thats funny thanks for sharing the vid! awesome stuff! :-)
If it had been a ZR-1 it would have taken a flatbed to get it back into the pits.
Those videos sure look a lot of fun. I pass by that track once or twice a year. Wish I could start actually stopping and driving on it!

It was intermittent and really slowed down over the top of turn 4. I was sure I had blown my 3rd motor but it ran great just a few minutes later......
Sold pending payment. Thanks guys for the fun thread....
