Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have recently purchased a 1999 996. The original manual was missing, but I was able to get another one. The manual doesn't discuss one of the buttons. It is the bottom rocker on the left side of the stereo (see pic), just below the wing extension button. I can't figure out what this does? Any help? Thanks

POST 2Original post

ummmm.... toilet paper reload button. Kidding. its a hack to the garage door, pull the panel out and trace the cable, there will be a garage remote on the other end.

POST 3Original post

Traction Control, if pushed you should get a light on the dash saying it's on etc.

POST 4Original post

POST 5Original post

POST 6Original post

Yeah, looks like the PO was a mad modder, 2 hack buttons. Good stuff actually.

POST 7Original post

On a glass top targa, that botton retracts the top. I you case, PO must have installed it for use as a 'garage door opener'; the mod is discussed under that topic. Do a search.
